Open days of the Biosfera Biograd center for the first week of the summer holidays
In the week of 24th-28th June, Biosfera Centre Biograd opens its doors through the “Open Days of Biosphere” event. A rich program of workshops for children and adults along with the permanent exhibition of the Biosphere Centre is free in the last week of June. Children of all ages will be able to take part in bug hotel building, seed ball and flower sticker making workshops on Monday. For older primary and secondary school age, on Tuesday the program includes an ecological walk to the beach, a social game about climate change and a workshop on reusing old textiles. On Wednesday, we prepare various workshops for children, such as planting a garden for pollinators, a soap and toothpaste workshop, and making eco signs. On Thursday we plan to make birdhouses and soap. On Friday, adults can also join the social game about climate change, and children can explore the hidden world in a drop of water visible through a microscope.
For three days (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday) in the evening from 8 o’clock, let’s announce evenings of documentary films on burning environmental topics that should encourage all viewers to think about ways to coexist with nature.
All workshops and activities start according to the planned schedule inside or in front of the Biosphere Centre.
The workshops were prepared in cooperation with the non-governmental organization from France @co.naissance.verte, which consists of two young girls, Lea Gaschet and Orane Duhamel, traveling through Europe with the mission of raising the level of awareness on the topic of climate change and environmental protection. Lea and Orane will participate in the implementation of activities and workshops during the open days.

The BioSfera Biograd project deals with the issue of ecological, social and economic sustainability of the protected nature areas of Dalmatia and Lika. The goal of the project is to preserve and valorize the natural heritage of the target area, especially less developed, rural areas through year-round sustainable active tourism. The space of the centre itself promotes sustainable active tourism of protected areas through multimedia themed halls.
The centre extends over 3 floors, and through interactive multimedia content you can discover the most beautiful natural attractions of Zadar, Šibenik – Knin and Lika – Senj counties. Take a peek at 3 national parks (Krka, Kornati and Paklenica) and 3 nature parks (Vransko jezero, Telašćica and Velebit) from one place!
All ages are invited to this educational adventure!
