What to see?

Info centre Kamenjak

Near the highest peak of the Nature Park Vransko Lake (Štandarac, 303 m.a.s.l.), there is the most attractive viewpoint of this area – Info centre Kamenjak, at a height of about 283 meters above the sea.

In the area of the info centre you can get more information about the Nature Park, buy souvenirs with motifs of Vransko Lake, cycling and excursion tickets, and you can also enjoy the specialties of the traditional tavern. In mid-September, meet local farmers at the “Luka i igara” fair.

Two connected buildings were built and decorated in a traditional style, and next to them there are large information boards that tell the story of this region that is older than two millennia, a large plateau with benches for rest and enjoyment, a panoramic telescope and most importantly: a view of the entire lake.

The shorter path next to the info centre Kamenjak, as well as the plateau, are suitable for children and wheelchairs.

It is allowed to take dogs for a walk along the paths by the viewpoint, but they must be on a leash at all times.

Absorb all the beauty of the view of the largest natural lake in Croatia, the olive groves and dry walls of Modrava, and the blue sea dotted with the numerous islands of the Zadar, Šibenik and Kornati archipelagos.
On the plateau is the Chapel of All Saints, to which on Good Friday one makes a pilgrimage along the 2.5 km long Way of the Cross from the village of Bakovići.
A circular botanical/mountaineering trail begins in the immediate vicinity, which you can use to walk through the thick holm oak forest through the Orlja Draga and Mernjača canyons around the Kamenjak hill. This moderately demanding hiking tour lasts 2.5 hours. The recommended direction of movement is: Viewpoint Kamenjak – Orlja Draga canyon – panoramic trails – Mernjača canyon – Viewpoint Kamenjak.

Cash and card payments are possible at info centres.
