Biosfera Open Days

Last week, from the 23th to the 27th of June, the Biosphera center opened its doors to the public.

Our three French interns organized a workshop of various activities for children. These activities included the making of an insect hotel, seedballs, kites, and music instruments. The 30 children who took part in this workshop also had the opportunity to learn about the protection of biodiversity (bees, fish, birds…) through educational games. Finally, they participated in an ecological walk on the beach, picking up trash.

A movie night was also organized, where the participants shared fear, laughter and… popcorn!

These shared days enabled cultural and linguistic exchanges, through, for instance, a cooking workshop, during which children prepared a salad fruit and a French speciality : crêpes. Along with these many activities, the Diverterra interactive exhibition showcased Croatia’s outstanding biodiversity and natural resources as well as the current challenges it faces, linked to our lifestyle(s).

Not only did these Biosfera Open Days permitted the raise of awareness regarding the environment but it also gave the children the opportunity to meet each other as well as people from different walks of life.

We thank you all for your participation and are looking forward to meeting you all again!
