Nature Park Vransko Lake
The announced workshop of renovating old and abandoned olive groves in Modrave area of Vransko Lake was held on Saturday 03/12/2016. Three-hour, free workshop was attended by some 30 olive growers, with workshop guided by the agronomist mr. sc. Marian Tomac from Zadar.
The selected olivegrowe was, until a week ago completely impassable thriving with juniper and pine on the surface of 5000 m2, property of Mrs. Marija Juroš Vuksanić. Olive grove is located on the southern coast of Vransko lake, not far from the city Prosika info -center. After the restoration of old olive trees in the first part of the workshop, the restoration of the crown by removing the unproductive parts of the tree was presented during the second part of the workshop held in an olive grove owned by Ms. Nevenka Bilic. Mr. Tomac demontsrated proper pruning methods on maintained olives, advising on fertilization, as well as the protection from the most common diseases and pests of olives.
